Equinix Messaging Gateway - June 2023 R2023.3.0 Release Notes

This release supports customers with the ability to request a large Smart Hands orders. We also added the possibility to call Technical Contact person while creating smart hands in EMG.

SmartHands Order
(new)

For SmartHands Order:

Customers can now request a Large SmartHands (SH) orders via EMG.

The Large SH means:

  • Any cabling request greater than 24 cables. Maximum limit: 200 cables.
  • Equipment installation build greater than 100 rack units (RU) in total equipment size. Maximum limit: 500 RU’s.

For Create SmartHands:

Equinix now gives additional call contact possibilities (to request communication between an Equinix technician and a designated Primary Technical Contact person) through the following fields:

  • CallContactBeforeStart - before the work begins
  • CallContactBeforeComplete - once the work is completed

This release supports customers with the ability to place service requests and trouble tickets associated with Equinix Managed Services and the ability to respond to smart hands inbox negotiation.

Managed Services
(new)

Managed Services:

Customers can now submit Equinix Managed Services trouble tickets and service requests via EMG.

The following use cases are supported:

  • Create a case (trouble ticket/service request)
  • Update a case
  • Receive and send notifications of case status (update of trouble ticket/order of service)
  • Creates and sends notifications to the client application.

SmartHands Order
(new)

For Outgoing Notification:

For an outgoing notification, Equinix will now return additional order information using the defined pending negotiation states in the SubState field:

  • Pending Expedite Negotiation
  • Pending Scheduled Negotiation


For Update SmartHands:

For expedited orders, customers based on the SubState states can respond with the appropriate actions:

  • APPROVE - Approve order to proceed according to the proposed date and time from Equinix.
  • APPROVE_NON_EXPEDITE - Approve order to proceed without expedite. The order is proceed according to standard scheduling.
  • CANCEL - Cancel order item.
