Learn how to place a variety of orders using EMG.
Required Permissions:
To use EMG, the user must have below permissions for the required Equinix IBX data centers. If you are unaware of your user permissions, contact your Master Administrator. You can find these permissions under Administration & Ordering permission catalog of Equinix Customer Portal (customerportal.equinix.com)
Order Management
Create Trouble Ticket Order
- Mandatory permission: Trouble Ticket ordering permission
- Additional permission that may be required: View Install Base permission (if you want to include an asset ID number and need to retrieve it)
Create Shipments Order
- Mandatory permission: Shipments ordering permission
Create Work Visit Order
- Mandatory permission: Work Visit ordering permission
Create Smart Hands Order
- Mandatory permission: Smart Hands ordering permission
- Additional permission that may be required: IBX Access Services ordering permission (if you need to schedule a Work Visit order for a Cage Access Escort Smart Hands order)
- Additional permission that may be required: Shipments ordering permission (if you need to schedule an Inbound Shipping order for an Unpack Shipments or Locate Packages Smart Hands order)
- Additional permission that may be required: View Install Base permission (if you need to retrieve the serial number of a cross connect for a Patch Cable Installation or Patch Cable Removal Smart Hands order)
Create Cross Connect Order
- Mandatory permission: Cross Connect & Intra-Facility Cables ordering permission
Notifications
Receive IBX Maintenance Notifications
- Mandatory permission: Planned, unplanned, incident, and advisory notifications
Receive Network Notifications
- Mandatory permission: Equinix Fabric port and VC up/down notifications
Receive Billing Notifications
- Mandatory permission: Related to notifications when customer order is closed, and when billing is started by Equinix
Receive Fabric Notifications
- Mandatory permission: receive status notifications when your provisioned Equinix Fabric Port or Virtual Connection goes down or comes up again
